Employee Details:
Works Number: Payroll Identification Number - This is a unique number to identify you on our payroll system.
NI Number & Category: National Insurance Number.
Tax Code: Your tax code is used by your employer or pension provider to work out how much Income Tax to take from your pay or pension. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) tell hap which code to use.
If you are unsure if you are on the right tax code you will need to contact HMRC directly https://www.gov.uk/tax-codes.
Student Loan: If you have a student loan, the plan will be shown here. https://www.gov.uk/repaying-your-student-loan/which-repayment-plan-you-are-on
Payment Details:
Pay Date: The date you have been paid.
Tax Period: The period of time for which your tax is calculated. Tax year runs from 6th April to the following 5th April yearly. The number here represents the week number in the tax year that you are being paid.
Payments:
This area lists the assignments you have worked, the date of the shift, the hours, rate and gross pay. (Gross Pay = pay before deductions)
Deductions:
This area shows your statutory deductions.
Tax: Pay as you earn tax. This is the amount of tax you have paid. hap do not allocate the amount of tax you pay, this is directly worked out by our payroll software and HMRC and varies depending on personal circumstances and other income. If you feel you have paid too much or not enough tax please contact HMRC directly: https://www.gov.uk/tax-codes.
National Insurance: This is your amount of National Insurance contributions. The amount of National Insurance you pay depends on your personal circumstances and other income. If you feel you have paid too little or too much please contact HMRC directly: https://www.gov.uk/national-insurance.
Pension: If you are opted in to the pension scheme, deductions will be shown here.
Student Loan: If you have a student loan and have earnt over your plan threshold, deductions will be shown here.
Year To Date:
This area breaks downs your earnings, pension, tax and national insurance for this tax year to date. (Tax year runs from 6th April to the following 5th April).
Employer Contributions:
This are shows our contributions as your employer towards either National Insurance or Pension (if you are opted in)
Net Pay:
This is the final amount you will be paid after all deductions have been made.
Payment Method: How you are being paid. All employees are paid directly into their bank via BACS - (Bankers' Automated Clearing System). If you need to change your bank details please complete the following form ensuring that you select the 'pay' dropdown and include your Full Name, New Account Number, Sort Code and Account holder's name in the details section.
Employers PAYE Reference: This can be found at the bottom of your payslip and is our unique employers reference number. Example -120/RB49617.
