Am I ready for camping in a festival field?
At some of our festival Vacancies you will be required to camp and you will need to bring your own camping gear for a comfortable weekend and, of course, be able to put up your own tent.

What camping equipment does hap provide?
None, you are required to bring all your own camping equipment.
Can I buy a tent at the festival?
You must bring all your camping equipment with you to the festival. While some festivals may have on-site stalls where you can buy additional supplies, these stalls are not operational before the festival commences and should not be relied upon.
Where will I camp?
hap will have a designated camping area within the staff camping area of the festival.
How will I get my stuff from my car / coach to the campsite?
You will be required to carry your belongings to the campsite. Please note campsites are always walkable from car parks but can be anywhere up to a 25 minute walk away
Will someone help me put my tent up?
Putting your tent up remains your responsibility however, you will be camping with lots of other people who are normally willing to help each other. We recommend doing a test run with your tent to ensure you have everything you need to put it up before coming to the festival.
What facilities are on the campsite?
There are always showers and toilets either on campsite or a short walk away.
My friends are at a different campsite can I camp with them?
No, you are required to camp at the designated hap staff camping area.
Will I be camping on my own?
You will be camping in the staff campsite in a designated area for hap staff. There may be other staff from different companies also in that area.
Can I bring my campervan?
No, space is limited and camper vans are not permitted. If you are booked onto a camping assignment you are required to camp in a tent.
Can I sleep in my car?
When booking a shift at a camping festival, you are required to camp. Sleeping in vehicles is not permitted due to a number of reasons, including but not limited to festival regulations, safety concerns, limited or no facilities in the car parking area, health and hygiene considerations, and general discomfort.
Will there be hot water available on campsite?
At many camping festivals there may be kettles provided on the campsite for staff to use; however, this is not guaranteed and should not be depended upon
What will I eat?
Check your confirmation email to confirm what food is included in your booked assignment. At most of our camping festivals, for days that you are working, you will receive a lunch box and a meal voucher to spend at selected vendors. We recommend bringing snacks for breakfast and to keep you filed throughout the day.
PLEASE NOTE that vegetarian options will be available but unfortunately not all dietary requests can be catered for therefore, if you do have a dietary condition, we would advise you bring food and snacks to last throughout the weekend.
Can I cook my own food on the campsite?
No, in accordance with health and safety regulations, no cooking or fires are permitted on site. This includes, but is not limited to, open fires, bonfires, tiki torches, candles, and gasoline or diesel-powered stoves
Can I fill up my water bottle?
Yes, each campsite will either have a water tap in their campsite or one nearby. We recommend bringing a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated.
Where will I charge my phone?
We recommend you bring a portable charging bank to charge your phone. Access to a charging point cannot be guaranteed.
Can we party at night in the campsite?
No, the campsite is a shared space, often with people working different shift times. Noise should be kept to a minimum at all times due to compliance with local regulations, safety concerns, environmental impact, and respect for your fellow colleagues and campers.
