Arriving to a camping shift at a festival

Please note that you are only able to camp at an assignment if you booked this option. You cannot turn up on the day expecting to camp if you did not book this.

Step 1: Meeting point

The evening before your arrival you will receive a text message with the meeting point.

If there is parking available, the text message will include the location. Parking availability will have been disclosed at the point of booking.

🚨 You must go to this point, with ID and everything you need to enter the festival, to receive your wristband before entering the site. You will not usually be allowed to leave and re-enter the festival so please prepare yourself with everything you need for the duration.

Please familiarise yourself with What3Words - our meeting points will often come in this format, alongside written directions. 

How it works:

🌍 Every 3 metre square of the world has been allocated a unique combination of 3 words. Simply input the 3 words and directions will be generated.

1. You will receive a set of 3 words (e.g., ///apple.banana.orange).
2. Open the What3Words website or use the What3Words app.
3. Enter the three words into the search bar.
4. The system will show you the exact location on a map and give you directions.

Step 2: Accreditation, Wristband, and Bar Allocation

Once you arrive at the meeting point you will be accredited, given a staff wristband, and any training details for the festival.

Please familiarise yourself with the hap team on site, who are there for any questions you may have. Please do not contact the hap office once you are on site.

At this point you will also be given your first shift details, or a point and time to meet at later to receive this.

Step 3: Getting to the campsite

If you are camping at the event, you will have to walk from the sign-in desk to the staff camp-site. Therefore please ensure you can carry everything you have brought!

You will then need to set up your tent.
